Darkness
Gives way
To light
And the world
Springs to life
Except for me
Sleeplessness
Like a heavy blanket
Weighed me down
Tossing
Turning
Thinking
My nocturnal workout
Took its toll
In spite of this
I push the weight
Off my body
And rise
It’s another day
To live
And try again
To make peace
With the night
